Introduction to ASTM A514 Plate

Mechanical Properties

Grade E has minimum yield strength of 75,000psi with tensile strength range of 95,000-115,000psi. Good elongation of 18% and CVN toughness.

Applications

Used in main chords, girders and beams requiring high design loads. Replace heavier components constructed from A36 and A572 grades.
