Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Coil

Hot-rolled coils are made from slabs (mainly continuous cast slabs), which are heated and made into strips by rough rolling units and finishing rolling units. The hot steel strip coming out of the last rolling mill of finishing rolling is cooled to the set temperature through laminar flow, and is rolled into steel strip coils by the coiler. The cooled steel strip coils undergo different finishing operations according to the different needs of users. Lines (smoothing, straightening, cross-cutting or slitting, inspection, weighing, packaging and marking, etc.) are processed into steel plates, flat coils and slit steel strip products. With wide strength range, easy processability and excellent welding performance, the hot-rolled products of Shangang Steel are widely used in various industries, such as marine, automobile, bridge, construction, machinery, and pressure vessels.

The Delivery Condition for Hot-rolled Steels

The hot rolled coils will be delivered after the rolling process without any other treatment.

The hot rolled coils will be leveled and the defective section will be removed. The coil can be delivered cut-edge if needed.

The hot rolled coil can be sliced into several individual coils after the slitting process.

The hot rolled  steelcoil will be skin-passed, leveled and cut into sheets. The sheets will heat treat according to user needs. Due to the careful inspection and removal of the defect, the final product will have a good shape and surface quality. The edge condition of the sheets could be mill edge or cut edge.

The hot rolled coils will be skin-passed to remove the yield point jog and avoid the stretcher strains. During the skin-pass process, the defective section of the coil, such as the tongue or tail, will be cut off. The shape and surface quality of the coil will be improved.
